Our client, a major international business services group, contacted JSS Search regarding a requirement for up to 6 procurement professionals, mainly at category manager level, to join their team ensuring best practice in procurement activities across the group. These were roles in high demand category areas, with many employers struggling to source credible candidates and salary inflation at acute levels. Our client had found recruitment in this profession challenging on a number of occasions before speaking to JSS.
JSS developed a clear articulation of the employer value proposition for our client’s procurement team as well as benchmarking the roles against the competition. We conducted a targeted search process to engage and attract suitably qualified candidates, testing motivations and commitment to the opportunity. JSS targeted relevant businesses with similarly complex structure and that have driven significant category procurement exercises.
We identified a number of high calibre category experts who, after a rigorous selection process, joined our client and were able to conclude the assignment successfully. JSS Search carried out the negotiations and referencing, managing any counter offers to avoid candidates withdrawing.
Following an extensive search and selection process, we had four candidates who were deemed appointable for the role. The successful candidate came from another charity and was a female leader and a confident Financial Controller with a positive attitude and a flexible approach. She has hit the ground running, relieving War Child of the Financial Control and team management. She has improved Finance efficiencies and internal and external relationships associated with Finance.
