The Challenge

JSS partnered with War Child in the appointment of their interim Financial Controller. The organisation is transforming, and it didn’t make sense to recruit the role substantively. Therefore, they needed a competent and flexible candidate to join the organisation for one year and hit the ground running. They were also seeking a truly diverse field of candidates who are passionate about working for a Charity.

The Solution

Our extensive market mapping helped us target individuals who had worked within Charity Organisations. This ensured we had a very targeted list of organisations and people we could approach with tangibly relevant experience. We were highly proactive and inclusive with our strategy and ensured that candidates were experienced and passionate about the charity’s cause. As the role required immediately available, referenced candidates, we relied on our extensive network to fill this role with speed.

 The Impact

Following an extensive search and selection process, we had four candidates who were deemed appointable for the role. The successful candidate came from another charity and was a female leader and a confident Financial Controller with a positive attitude and a flexible approach. She has hit the ground running, relieving War Child of the Financial Control and team management. She has improved Finance efficiencies and internal and external relationships associated with Finance.
